A Great Dad!

This morning I had a chance to spend some time with Dad here in Houston.I am amazed as he has recounted the work of God in his life over the last 17 years. He is now 78 and continues to be used by God all over the world. He has literally been used by God to further the kingdom on just about every continent. He has been used in a significant way in South Africa and Asia.
I think the reason that God has used him in such a mighty way is because he has no desire for self to be exalted. He does not like to be referred to as the Father of the Cell Church movement. His life theme is, ” Not I but Christ who lives in me.”

I am one of the many who have been touched by your father’s life. The unique blend of biblical scholarship, strong opinions, endless compassion, and a sharp, articulate mind have made him a person that many of us will never forget. I have not always agreed with everything he said, yet I have often been deeply moved by his revelations. Beyond all that, however, is the joy of being around a man of great influence who still talks to you like the next door neighbor and really cares about how you’re doing. He is one of a kind and one of my favorite people.

Yes, he influenced me at a crucial time in my life an ministry some years ago in South Africa and now, in Australia, I am facing new challenges and am considering some of the things I learned way back then to begin new challenges.
I met Ralph in South Africa and look forward to meeting him again in eternity if not down here.
